Update the app and check your version
How updates reach your phone, tablet or Mac, what the update card says, where to see your version, and what to do if something broke after an update.
On this page
This page is about the app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. The website needs no update: it is always the latest version when you open it.
How updates arrive
Updates come through the App Store, or Google Play on Android. If your device is set to update apps by itself, you have nothing to do. Otherwise open the store, find Branham Sermons and update it from there.
The app also tells you. When a newer version is out, a card titled A new version is available appears on Home, with what the new version brings and two buttons: Update, which opens the app’s store page, and Not now, which hides the card. It comes back every other day until you update.
Two weeks after a new version comes out in your store, a screen titled Update needed asks you to update before you go on.
Small fixes without the store
Some small fixes can reach the app without a new version in the store. The app looks for them each time it opens, downloads them quietly and starts using them the next time you open it. Changes to how the app is built always come as a store update.
See your version
On iPhone or an Android phone
- Tap the You tab.
- Tap the menu icon at the top of the page. It opens More.
- Tap About.
- Read the version at the foot of the page, under Release notes.
On iPad and Mac
- Open the account row at the foot of the sidebar.
- Choose Help.
- Choose About.
- Read the version at the foot of the page.
The Release notes row on the same page lists what each version changed. The website has the same list: Release notes.
If something broke after an update
- Close the app completely and open it again.
- Open the App Store or Google Play and see whether Branham Sermons offers another update.
- Restart your device and try again.
- Check the Release notes for a change that explains what you see.
- Still stuck? Write to us with your version, your device, and what you were doing when it went wrong.
Do I have to update?
Yes, within two weeks of a new version. Until then the app reminds you every other day; after that it asks you to update before you go on. A device that updates its apps by itself sees neither.
Will I lose anything when I update?
No. Your account, your library and the sermons kept on the device stay as they were.
The App Store shows no update. What now?
A new version can ask for a more recent iOS, iPadOS or macOS than yours. The device then keeps the last version it can run. Check the supported devices.
The update card keeps coming back. How do I stop it?
Update the app. Not now only hides the card: it comes back every other day.
